Nobody Loves Me

Keiner Liebt Mich (Nadie me quiere). Fanny Fink (Maria Schrader) is a thirty-year-old loser scraping by with a security job at the airport. But surviving in Munich is not the same as surviving in Africa—a fact well known to the charming Orfeo de Altamar (Pierre Sanoussi-Bliss).

I have been there—in the loneliness of the migrant and the heartbreak of youth. Brimming with dark humor—which is to say, a vital optimism—I cannot stop smiling. Literally: director and screenwriter Doris Dörrie has the entire behind-the-scenes crew sing the magnificent Hymne à l'amour (lyrics by Édith Piaf, music by Marguerite Monnot) on camera during the wonderful, genuine second ending.
